Collaborative Cultural Groups include many! We strive to work with any and all cultural groups here at Hopkins to provide a frame-work of unity and team-building, where no group gets left behind!
Black Student Union (BSU)
The Johns Hopkins Black Student Union (BSU) was founded in April of 1968, shortly after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the riots which followed in Baltimore City. The club sponsors social events and lectures, participates in community service activities such as tutoring disadvantaged children, works to promote unity among African Americans, and works to improve the overall climate for African American students at Hopkins. Cultural Caribbean Society (CCS)
The mission of the Caribbean Cultural Society is to provide a social group for interaction between Johns Hopkins University students, faculty and staff with Caribbean backgrounds or interests. We strive to provide a support group for entering Caribbean students in order to ease the transition into the Johns Hopkins life, and serve as a source of information for any member of the Johns Hopkins University community interested in learning about the Caribbean.
